Do I Need to Update My Voter Registration?
HOW CAN I TELL IF MY VOTER INFORMATION IS CORRECT?
Go to nmvote.org and click on Find My Registration & Election Information, as indicated in top right box in the graphic below.

You will then see a search block like the image below. When you enter your name, birth date and county, check "I am not a robot" and click on the "Search" button, you can see:
  • all your personal information plus the Congressional, NM Senate, NM House, and other districts you are in.
  • a sample ballot, which shows you exactly which races you can vote for at election time.

WHAT IF MY VOTER INFORMATION IS WRONG? HOW CAN I FIX IT?
This is just like registering again. You don't really "fix" what's there, you just do it over, providing correct information.
  • Go back to nmvote.org and click on the register to vote box, top left in the grid shown here.
  • Click "next" button several times and fill in the required information until you get to the page where you can submit the information.
You can also fill out a paper voter registration form at your county clerk's office.

I NEVER WATCH THE NEWS. HOW DO I KEEP UP?
It's easy! Just subscribe to Centered America to get breaking news without the spin.
Watch the late night comics like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert. They track the news of the day and bring it to you with humor.
YouTube channels like Meidas Touch and The Bulwark deliver accurate news and make it entertaining.
I'M A STUDENT FROM OUT OF STATE. CAN I REGISTER TO VOTE IN NEW MEXICO?
YES. You can choose to register back home or in New Mexico but not both. Think about where you will be when the election happens in early November. Every vote counts in NM Congressional District 2, so we hope you'll decide to vote in New Mexico!
I LIVE IN NEW MEXICO BUT GO TO SCHOOL IN ANOTHER STATE. CAN I REGISTER AND VOTE IN NEW MEXICO?
YES. Once you are registered to vote, you can request an absentee ballot at nmvote.org and vote from anywhere.
I WAS IN JAIL, BUT I'M OUT NOW. CAN I REGISTER AND VOTE IN NEW MEXICO?
YES. If you are no longer incarcerated, you can register and vote in New Mexico. Please contact your County Clerk's office for more information.
I CURRENTLY DON'T HAVE AN ADDRESS. CAN I STILL REGISTER TO VOTE?
YES. You can put down a place where you are living temporarily, a homeless shelter address, or a P.O. box on the registration form. That way an absentee ballot can be mailed to you. See more here.
DO I HAVE TO DECLARE A PARTY?
No—you can vote for whoever you want, no matter what party. You can also change your party anytime by updating your voter information online or in person. Starting in June 2026 you can vote in a primary even if you decline to state a party in your voter registration.
