Both professionally and personally, Katherine Gauer has spent her life serving and advocating for people of all ages. Now, she has decided to run for office because she believes that Valencia County needs stronger representation at the Roundhouse.
Katherine’s top priority is everyday affordability. She knows that families, seniors, and the more than 356,000 New Mexico households who struggle to make it paycheck to paycheck deserve better. Her affordability goals include:

Increasing access to healthcare insurance

Expanding assistance for first-time homeowners

Providing incentives for alternatives to traditional housing models
Katherine understands New Mexico’s environmental challenges around water and wildfires. For example, the Unified Fire of March 2026 just south of Rio Communities demonstrated the need to prepare for changing water access and weather patterns.
