“Election Whisperer” Rachel Bitecofer is a political analyst who advises Democrats to “hit ‘em where it hurts,” when they campaign against Republicans. She says voters are looking for fighters.
Gabe Vasquez is a fighter. He fights for good jobs and affordable groceries, housing and healthcare. He's in a tough race; he's fighting for a third win in a swing district, and needs our help.
Rachel Bitecofer will talk to us about how maximize the midterm effect to help Gabe and make his win part of an historic wave election.
We'll also share a bit about us, what we've done to help elect Gabe Vasquez twice in a red district, and our plans for 2026.

Rachel Bitecofer is an election forecaster who has advised Democrats to “hit ‘em where it hurts,” when they campaign against Republicans. She says voters are looking for fighters who will rein in Trump’s inflation, oligarchy and cruelty and hold congressional Republicans responsible for the devastation they have wrought on our communities.
Our Host and Presenters
Host and moderator - Hal Gershenson
Hal Gershenson's start in political activism came when, at age 14, he marched in a torchlight parade for LBJ wearing white jeans and a plastic cowboy hat. Four years later he was knocking on doors for Eugene McCarthy and getting involved in anti-war protests.
Hal has worked with Blue CD2 since Gabe Vasquez's first campaign, serving on the steering committee, taking the treasurer's role for a year, working with the messaging group, and just being a general dogsbody taking on mundane tasks that no one really wants to do.
Professionally, until retirement, Hal was a developmental psychologist first doing diagnostic work for UNM with children. He then joined Albuquerque Public Schools as an educational diagnostician. In retirement, in addition to Blue CD2, Hal spends his time caring for his grandchildren and doing what he can to welcome pollinators to his Albuquerque North Valley garden.

About Us
Blue CD2 New Mexico is a grassroots organization, formed in 2021, which has been instrumental in the election of Gabe Vasquez to the NM District 2 House seat twice. Gabe is now running for a third term, and the Republicans would dearly love to have his seat. We've got his back for 2026.
We focus on registered but reluctant voters who generally don't go to the polls. In addition to our work with Gabe and down ballot races in the district, we've developed "how to" guides for groups in other states wanting to flip a district from red to blue. We currently have 10 of these districts signed up to receive our guides and workshop training for the 2026 mid terms. Imagine if all 10 were to win - we'd flip the house!!
