Blue CD2 New Mexico is a group of volunteers who are working to keep Gabe Vasquez in Congress. We're also supporting Micaela Lara Cadena, who's running for NM House District 33. She'll make life better for New Mexicans.
Micaela Lara Cadena

Micaela Lara Cadena is grateful to call the Mesilla Valley home. Since taking office in the Roundhouse in 2019, she has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for all District 33 residents.
Having spent much of her professional life working with low-income families, Micaela consistently promotes legislation that benefits them. She is especially passionate about giving young people the education and support they need for the next generation of New Mexican families to thrive, including access to good jobs and affordable housing. As the Vice Chair of the House Taxation and Revenue Committee, she has helped change state tax policies to better reflect the economic realities of families in Doña Ana County and across New Mexico.

Micaela joins her neighbors in being committed to protecting New Mexico’s natural resources. She is a member of the House Agriculture, Acequias and Water Resources Committee, where she works to make sure that New Mexicans have a say in the future of our land and water.
Most recently, Micaela has joined other state legislators in calling for a statewide moratorium on data centers until the State can develop a framework to evaluate their impact on water, energy, emissions, utility rates, and other community concerns. Micaela has directly opposed Project Jupiter, criticizing not only its potential water use and emissions, but also the process that led to the county’s approval of incentives for its development.
