Blue CD2 New Mexico is a group of volunteers who are working to keep Gabe Vasquez in Congress. We're also supporting Nathan Small, who's running for NM House District 36. He'll make life better for New Mexicans.
Nathan Small
Nathan Small understands hard work. He’s a third-generation New Mexican from a family of teachers and ranchers. He grew up in El Cerro Mission in a single-wide trailer with a communal well, so he knows what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet.

Nathan is a lifelong outdoorsman with a passion for public service. On the Las Cruces City Council, he led the effort to create the Las Cruces Sustainability Office, which promotes economic development while caring for existing neighborhoods. He has served in the State Legislature since 2016. As Chair of the House Budget Committee, Nathan is focused on making sure the budget reflects the values of working families in Doña Ana County.
Nathan’s priorities for the State Legislature are to:
-
Reduce healthcare premiums and prescription drug prices; protect people with pre-existing conditions; and recruit new doctors, nurses, and dentists to Southern New Mexico.
-
Fight price-gouging to protect consumers.
-
Hire more police officers and sheriff’s deputies, and expand drug treatment and mental health programs.
-
Protect water access for farms and families.
-
Safeguard reproductive rights for women, including keeping abortion safe and legal.
