Blue CD2 New Mexico is a group of volunteers who are working to keep Gabe Vasquez in Congress. We're also supporting Rickie Gonzales, who's running for NM House District 7. He'll make life better for New Mexicans.
Rickie Gonzales

Rickie Gonzales has lived in Valencia County nearly his whole life. He believes that for too long, HD7’s representatives in Santa Fe have voted against things that would help district residents. He’ll show up, listen, and put Valencia County families first.
Rickie’s priorities at the Roundhouse will be:
-
Economic security for struggling families. A real living wage, affordable housing, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the people at the top.
-
Safe communities and equality. Investing in our schools, in mental health, and in dignity for every family.
-
Protecting our freedoms and democracy. Your vote, your body, your family, your future.

Here are some specific actions that Rickie Gonzales will take for Valencia County:
-
Attract businesses that provide educational and job opportunities for local residents.
-
Budget school funding to better serve Native students, English learners, students with disabilities, and kids from low-income families.
-
Fund the sheriff’s department for better recruitment, retention, and rural response.
-
Help rebuild local behavioral health capacity.
-
Promote adequate planning before new growth is approved.
-
Scrutinize every water-use proposal (including for data centers).
-
Fight for a flood control authority for Valencia and Socorro Counties.
-
Support seniors living on fixed incomes, such as by protecting PERA and ensuring accurate cost-of-living increases.
