Who is Greg Cunningham?

Failed state legislative candidate Greg Cunningham is running against Gabe Vasquez for Congress in New Mexico’s 2nd congressional district.

There are some very good reasons NOT to vote for him.

He's an out-of-state political opportunist.

While claiming Arizona as his primary residence, he filed for property tax exemptions on a home in Albuquerque—exemptions only meant for full-time residents. New Mexico families play by the rules. Greg Cunningham needs to explain why documents showed two primary residences while he paid zero property taxes in New Mexico.

He's a rubber stamp for Trump, the Republican Party, and its billionaire bosses.

"I really want to deal with policy only as it pertains to President Trump…I believe his policies are good for the people of CD-2, and I’d like to help further those policies,” said Cunningham in an interview with Santa Fe New Mexican political reporter Daniel J. Chacón.

You mean policies that have cost American families an estimated $1,700 in higher costs and hurt our dairy farmers, pecan growers, and trade operations in Santa Teresa?

You mean the policies driving up healthcare costs and threatening healthcare coverage for New Mexico families?

On a conservative radio talk show, Cunningham said his “number one priority” is advancing the national Republican agenda.

That Republican agenda includes:

Kicking millions off healthcare coverage
Taking SNAP benefits away from 60,000 households in NM-02.
Closing rural hospitals
Dismantling veterans’ health care
Having ICE raid homes and arrest our neighbors and friends
Slashing wildfire budgets
Cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations

We need people in Congress who will fight against Trump’s destructive actions.

He's an extremist with deep ties to far-right religious extremism.

Cunningham frequently emphasizes his faith as the foundation of his public service, but his brand of Christianity wants to take away people’s rights. He attends a megachurch that condemns same-sex relationships, and he signed an explicit pledge declaring he is “committed to ending all abortion.”
